Although buying trends are moving towards consolidation, strong economic arguments can be made for a variety of suppliers. In fact, most of the Fortune 500 companies are currently working supplier diversity initiatives. If integrated into the overall corporate strategy, supplier diversity can be a source of competitive advantage for corporations. In order for this integration successfully occur, however, the initiative should be senior management, supporting culture, and the presence of champions to promote the offer.
