SpeechReport Case Study Analysis

Considering the product offered, the products should be based on the advance approaches depending on the type of product that would provide potential benefits to the users. In case of Tide, the product offered to the consumers should require the use of less product quantity at a time but will significant product outcomes satisfying the needs and expectations of the consumers.

Offering products based on the consumer’s need would allow large consumer base to purchase products regardless of the price. But, in order to keep the product reach to every possible consumer in the market, the product price is required to be kept competitive. This would not only grab the interest of consumer but would also promote consumer loyalty based on the quality of the product.

Similarly, as the products sales is mainly dependent on Wal-Mart, one cannot restrict the sale of other products. Due to this reason, in order to improve the reach to each potential consumer, the organization is recommended to develop its own distribution channel which would not only increase traffic but also provides a way to the organization to satisfy the needs of the consumers based on close evaluation of their perception. Thus, the products can be promoted through digital marketing approach which mainly includes social media marketing in the era of digitalization providing access to global level.

Slide 4: Product Position Map

The product positioning is based on the market share of the products contributed to the entire sales of the organization. Some of the products represent high sales only in the United States whereas some product have significant market share at global level. P&G has high market share of about 20 percent at global level in the retail hair care market; 6 percent in the top facial skin brand; 60 percent in the blades and razor market; 20 percent by Oral B and Crest, 25 percent by Tide and Ariel; 25 percent in diaper, pants and baby wipes with highest contribution by Pampers with an annual sales of about $8 billion. This means that there are more product segments which are performing and contributing better than Tide which is beyond expectation. But as the fabric category has overall largest percent of contribution i.e. about 22 percent among all product segments, the positioning of Tide can be improved using the proposed marketing strategy.

Slide 5: Demand Curve

Here is the demand curve of the product, during the initial launch period of the product, the product demand would be high but is expected to decline with the change in price. With respect to the perception of the consumers, decline in product price is often considered as comprised product quality. Due to this reason, the sales of the product decreases followed by a decrease in the consumer’s interest towards the product. But, considering the evaluation method as discussed in product cycle, the product’s declining phase can be significantly given a boost to growth followed by introduction of new features in the product and increase in the product price.

Slide 6: Income Statement

Therefore, as a result of the implementation of the recommended marketing strategy, the net sales of the organization is expected to increase at the rate 8 percent per year. Similarly, the net income is evaluated to be double within a period of next ten years. But, if the organization decides to continue its business operations with existing strategic approach, the net income would be increased by one-third as compared to the recommended strategy outcome. Therefore, the organization is recommended to implement the strategic options suggested. This will not only bring improvement in the net sales but also improve the market share as shown here in the outlook of recommended strategy.
