Southwest Airlines 2011 Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

As Southwest approached its 40th year of service, the company faces a number of serious problems. The legacy carriers in the United States has become more efficient, and the recent mega-mergers with Delta / Northwest and Continental / United shaking up the industry. Small companies like JetBlue and Allegiant put pressure on the South-West economic benefits and low-cost focus. The main problem for the inner Southwest will manage its acquisition AirTran, a deal announced in late 2010.
