Question 5:

  1. Considering the already given mission statement and objectives are very well defined, measurable and specific therefore it doesn’t seem like their mission and objectives needs to be revised since it covers all the elements to achieve their long term strategic position in the market.
  2. In order to achieve the mission and objectives of SSC, they need to restructure their strategies and marketing initiatives. Currently they are relying over no paid marketing strategies which is why the number of visitors are falling. Also, they don’t keep any brochures at the visitor centers. The major issue behind no such advertising was due to insufficient funds. Since they were charging only $2 on average per visitor therefore their earnings were not strong and they need to revise that. In order to keep providing valuable experiences, SSC needs to address their charges received from a visitor. They should increase per head visitor charges from $3 to $5 for adults and $3 for children from $1 in order to support the valuable and quality experiences provided by SSC.

Question 6:

  1. The specific strategies includes the following actions:
    1. Raise the per head charges of a visitor
    2. Do social media advertising as a first step towards reaching and attracting a larger audience. Currently the number of visitors has fallen from around 100,000 to 50,000 therefore SSC has to start advertising their services online on social media and in newspaper as well to target a wider audience and grow their outreach on a national level.
  • The human resource staff of SSC is already playing its part in molding experiences of their customers.
  1. Charging $4 on average from around 50000 visitors would mean $200000 earnings in the current situation instead of $100,000 considering that the ratio of adult and children visitor is 50/50. This would be sufficient to pull them from a difficult situation and provide services without compromising their quality.
  2. Also, they need to focus on marketing strategies to grow the number of their visitors.
  1. Once SSC starts advertising about the kind of experiences they are providing, after increasing their charges on a per visitor basis then it will increase the number of visitor from around 50,000 to around 100,000 which would translate into increasing their revenues to around $400,000. Since their services are unique as compared to their competitors and they had a peaked at 130,000 visitors during early 2000 therefore achieving a 100,000 mark with the new initiatives is not difficult which will resolve their low revenue generation problems...........
