The case describes the situation of Dirk von Ameln, the permitting director of Nord Stream, in his discussion efforts to obtain the national permits for the building of the Nord Stream pipeline. To be able to procure the construction permit that is Danish, Dirk had to reach an understanding together with the Danish fishermen, who were afraid of a negative effect on their commerce from the building and operation of the pipeline.
