Rob Jones, business development manager trainee, was invited to give a recommendation to buy a key part of the intellectual property for use in the Xbox. The project requires the cooperation of several functional groups within the Xbox and, ultimately, their buy-in. Jones collected assessments and prospects (and sometimes contradictory) and needs to assimilate them in the recommendation. Jones surprised to learn that his manager arranged for its recommendations to be submitted to the Director of Finance.
