Introduction

Hagen Nordstrom founded MIA in Denmark as a tribute to his wife. This NGO's objective was to concentrate on "projects in Southeast Asia aimed at reducing poverty and catastrophe recovery." To run the MIA Philippines office, Borje Petersen was employed when MIA opened an office in Manila in 2006. Petersen selected Barangay San Hagon, a fishing community in the Philippines, as the location of MIA's Philippine project.

The purpose of a nonprofit organization can be determined in large part by looking at its values, mission, and vision. A group of beliefs that are most significant to the company is its values. They have significance and will serve as the foundation for the inspiration for establishing a nonprofit. Mission statements explain the motivation behind a service's existence. The concepts in the vision will show how the mission statement will be carried out. They mainly focus on their vision to develop a healthy environment free of poverty and natural disasters. However, MIA Nordstrom took the initiative and changed MIA's focus in 2004 to disaster relief and projects aimed at reducing poverty in Southeast Asia (Kayalar, 2009).

Problem Statement

The task of conniving and dealingwith a development assistance project that would find a go-to-market supply chain for a remote Filipino fishing hamlet falls on the anewhired state manager of a non-profit organization MIA Philippines, which has the mission to reduce poverty in evolvingnations. The country manager must join a new country, deal with the limits of extraneousprinciples, values, and cultures establish the job, manage important stakeholders' expectations while attempting to lead a multicultural workforce, and finish the job on time. The case's value is derived through a realistic assessment of stakeholders' motivations, capacities, and constraints during the design and implementation phases (Kayalar, 2009).

Analysis

There are various projects that the organization has initiated across the globe, similarly, the organization initiated a poverty-livating project across Africa and then extended its operations across Latin America and the Caribbean. A progressaiddevelopment that would launch a go-to-market supply chain for a rural fishing town in the Philippines, however, presented several challenges for the director of MIA, Philippines. Furthermore, a project contract was signed between San Hagon Fishing Cooperative and MIA.

Since the beginning of the project, MIA has urged that every fisherman join the fishing cooperative. Because HUI malls and MIA intended all interested parties in San Hagon to profit from the initiative to reduce penury, 100% membership to the fishing cooperative was crucial. This was the reason that It was required to combine the village's catch to make it possible for the clasp to be sold to the customer. Some major issues and challenges resist MIA to execute its project in the country due to the conflict among stakeholders and there were issues in conniving and managing the development assistance project for a remote Filipino fishing village(Habaradas, 2021).

Buenaventura's demand that he earns $150 and the additional cooperative workers get a $100 once-a-month salary in exchange for the labor they would perform led to the first argument. When the salary demand was first made, MIA resisted it and threatened to cancel the deal. Despite this, Buenaventura persisted, and Petersen had given Perez the go-ahead to negotiate the demand after two weeks of debate and complete inaction on the side of the locals to save the project. It had so been agreed that Buenaventura would receive $100 every month and his sons-in-law would receive $65, to be paid over a year (Mia, 2022).

The second issue arose when Buenaventura refused to divulge all of the costs associated with constructing the cooperative building. Later, MIA discovered that Buenaventura had hosted a "fiesta," a Philippine festival that featured free drinks and a "Lechon," or charcoal-roasted pork, to honor the new structure. Petersen had begun to consider whether he had thru a grave error in selecting San Hagon as the pilot project and Perez as the project manager at this point. He had obviously to press through even if it destinedtolerant more demands because he was afraid of what would happen to his career if he abandoned the project.
