Meta-Technologies and Innovation Leadership: Why There May Be Nothing New Under the Sun Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

As firms seek to carry through innovation, they face the dual challenge of how to combine seemingly contradictory points of view. First, it is really a desire to bring new products to market and to follow the "market" approach to product development, which is often, as a rule, are conservative by nature. Second to avoid the "innovator's dilemma" or becomes a prisoner again-but-not-more successful technologies in connection with the appearance of apparently "disruptive" new technologies. Provides a framework to help organizations simultaneously address these two issues, which are rooted in the understanding that while the company can produce a set of (technical) features, benefits consumers purchase.
