In 2011, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), India's principal car manufacturer, had observed three strikes in its new plant in Manesar, India. MSIL maintained that workers be symbolized through the present union that operated at a closeby plant, eventhough workers wanted acknowledgement of a fresh union along with improved working conditions. Tensions soared to the point of violence along with the matter caught the concentration of state and central governments, political parties, national trade unions, and national media.
