DALLAS COUNTY

Dallas was established after Iowa and became a state in 1846. During the tenure of James K. Polk acting as the president, Iowa became a state and the county is named after the vice president of United States George M. Dallas. After the county was established it was necessarily requiring a census by which the authorities would be able to acquire the head count of people residing in the territory(dallas, n.d).

The country’s first census was in 1850, during the first census a total of 854 counted residents were living in the county. The census was as predicted because the county was not a home to a lot of people as it was not given the position of a state before 1846.
The population in the county was not large since its establishment, as very few numbers of residents were residing in the county. Since the period of early settlement, the county population was not large, it accounted for on 5244 residents and these numbers grew rapidly in 1980 by 20,479. These numbers clearly indicate that people started moving towards the newly established county rapidly and the number of people residing in the territory increased. The county has experienced a significant increase in its population growth.
