Managing Value in Supply Chains: Case Studies on the Sourcing Hub Concept Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

The raw material sourcing knowledge of a firm can be a tactical resource. This informative article investigates how firms can get and use this knowledge. It investigates the sourcing encounters of four companies in four different countries in the automotive industry and identifies the raw material sourcing knowledge-related boundaries.  The findings were amalgamated  from these case scenarios, it proposes the concept of the sourcing hub, a collaborative centre involving the company, its providers, and raw material suppliers, which can efficiently capture and deploy the raw material sourcing knowledge for handling value in upstream sourcing.
