The Gaelic Athletic Association and Irish Rugby Football Union are just two athletic organizations that have innovated through their business models to grow their sports, create world-class sport facilities and improve their capability to win European competitions. Yet they reside in one of many smallest states in Europe - Ireland.Both organizations compete for scarce human, physical and fiscal resources and are faced with a quickly changing environment following the deepest recession in the history of emigration and the Irish Republic of ability abroad. This case scenario challenges students to investigate how the models could be innovated to make certain survival of these cultural benefits for the following generation and to assess the business models of the Gaelic Athletic Association and Irish Rugby Football Union.
