Celanese, a worldwide leader in the chemical industry, had spent a number of years incorporating the divisional IT functions into a shared services model and executing just one instance ERP solution. After years of use and IT service increase, around 2007, many in Celanese IT considered that their internal procedures were in urgent need of tighter coordination and process discipline. They looked to Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) to direct their procedure integration attempt.
