Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

In 2009, the organization tasked with building a Mass Transit System for the capital city Delhi in India, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, witnessed the biggest crisis in its history. A bridge under construction fell killing six people and injuring 15 others. Regardless of its history of meeting target and working with apportioned costs, the Corporation came under a lot of public criticism.

There was enormous pressure on the business to hang its engineers and fire the building contractor. On the flip side, it had to meet the deadline of operationalizing the second stage of Metro Network by the month October 2010 in time for XIXth Commonwealth Games.
