Break It Down Again: Evaluating the Small Schools’ Reform Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

A consulting firm was appointed to resolve the results of the first stage of the little schools' proposals commenced four years previously that were so ambiguous. The primary metric for determining success was the high school graduation rate. Two of the district's high schools, Julia Alvarez High School and Langston Hughes High School, had been converted from single big high schools to multiple small schools within the first buildings. While Langston Hughes experienced a rise in graduation rates under the new school-within-a-school (SWS) model, the graduation rates at Julia Alvarez were worse.

Both high schools had executed the same SWS format and had undergone the transition to small schools at the exact same time, therefore it is up to the consulting team to figure out Langston Hughes was booming and Julia Alvarez was not.
