Blue Steele Toy Company Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Derrick Zandler father of Matilda Jeffries founded The Blue Steele Toy Company  in 1985.

Zandler was an industrial artist who made stuffed animals during his free time. His first creation which was a teddy bear and which was presented to Matilda on her 7th birthday, occupies a distinct place at Blue Steele Toy Company’s headquarters.

In 1985, Zandler got hold of an old pneumatic pump that was previously used to inflate lifejackets for the Navy during the Great World War. He made some changes to the machine to make mass production of stuffed animals possible and hence the Blue Steele Toy Company came into being.
