AppliChem has six plants in different countries doing the same chemicals. The purpose of this case, to allow students to think about the costs related to the management of the manufacturing environment, how to define the comparison of costs and productivity in a variety of plants, and how it happens that the plants in different parts of the world arrive at completely different costs of production of the same product.
