Introduction

John Grant is 63 years with many medical conditions including the bilateral knee osteoarthritis. Meanwhile, he also has medical history of having type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and angina also depression. Since, these medical conditions are very complicated because, the increasing complications and complexities in the medical science has given various challenges to deal with them due to the increased cross relation, and dependency of one medical condition with another.

Furthermore, the bilateral knee osteoarthritis is commonly found in overage people. But, it could also be found in the young age people, because the overweight might be one cause for that condition. However, it can be determined that there are many complications to understand because, John has been planning to have total replacement of right knee through surgery, and after full recovery then left knee surgery. Indeed, it is important to know what practices have to be followed in order to avoid any other problem after surgery.

Similarly, it is important to know that patient after the operation or the surgery is more exposed to the risk of being getting another medical condition. Therefore, it is the aim of this paper to understand the complications and complexities in post-operative Deep vein Thrombosis (DVT) in the patient, and to understand the current strategies, which are evidence based rather than traditional basedto avoid DVT, and what are other risk factors associated with that condition, and what plans could be adopted to mitigate those risk factors.

On the other hand, it can be determined that patient also has hyperlipidemia, and angina and is going under total replacement of the knee. So, he is already under several medical conditions, including depression, and type 2 diabetes so, things might go wrong. Because, he has high cholesterol level, and possible coronary arteries disease, so there is huge risk that patient is exposed to more risks due to current medical conditions. Because, it is also possible that patient might develop Symptomatic venous thromboembolism (VTE) due the underlying medical.

Comprehensive assessment

The Osteoarthritis is known as the wear and tear. Since, the patient also has medical condition that needs to be understood prior to any nursing plan. Because, the patient is also has hepatitis type 2 disease which means his body is unable to use the insulin effectively. On other hand, the patient is also suffering from hyperlipidemia, which means he has high cholesterol level, and he also has angina which is discomfort in chest, heart indicating the heart disease such as the coronary arteries disease.

Meanwhile, these medical condition of the patient are very important to understand before taking any decision regarding the patient. However, it can be determined patient also has depression problem. Indeed, in a clinical research about the risk factors about the deep vein thrombosis post-operative, two risk factors were discovered in the scientific study over the patient who had gonethrough the total knee arthroplasty, and hip arthroplasty. Meanwhile, the patients who were gone under the operations 42% of the patients were detected to have deep vein thrombosis post-operation.(C. Struijk-Mulder & B. Ettema, 2013)

On the other, in another study it was also indicated that DVT in the Asian patients were lower than the US patients. However, the number of incidents were increasing in Asia, where the patients that had gone under the knee surgery had been detected to have DVT after surgery. Since, many factors were found to have associated with that condition. Meanwhile, the 40.4% patients adopted the DVT post-operatively. Consequently, it can be determined that it is highly anticipated that John Grant could also adopt the DVT, because he would go under the surgery twice, so the risk of the DVT is also high for him.(Januel, Chen, & Ruffieux, 2012)

Similarly, it is important to understand how these risks could be mitigated, and which are critical medical findings? That could help in this regard to avoid the adoption of the DVT by the patients who goes through knee surgery. Indeed, John Grant is and old man aged 63 years, and has hyperlipidemia, angina, and hypertension also known as silent killer. Therefore, it can be determined that John has more exposure to many other risks or the medical conditions post-operation due to having long history of the medical conditions.

Nursing Plan Care Based

There are many complications and complexities to understand in the medical science. Whereas, the medical conditions of the patients are very complex due to underlying risk factors. Meanwhile, in research where patients undergo the total knee or hip arthroplasty were detected to have deep vein thrombosis, or the pulmonary embolism after the operation. Similarly, many risk factors were identified that contributed to the development of the DVT or the pulmonary such as the patients  having high preoperative plasma D-dimer value, or the patients having medical history of the hyperlipidemia had adopted the DVT after the operations. So, these two risk factors were identified in scientific, and research based study.(C. Struijk-Mulder & B. Ettema, 2013)..................
