This is the 5th case of a chain; taking place in the September of 2005. The case concentrates on the role of John Nielsen; lately made to the board of Dockwise; the global leader in the semi-submersible heavy lift transport business. Succeeding the acquisition of the Norwegian challenger OHT (see D case); Dockwise is looking at changed situation given the substantial turmoil in the market for petroleum (highest costs reached with more than $60 per barrel) and the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Wilma.

A further new entrant has broadcasted the goal of constructing new semi-submersible heavy lift ships through conversion of old tonnage; and rejuvenation of the tug-barge combination through a fresh generation of ocean-going tugs. The case puts the subscriber in the role of John Nielsen who must advice to Dockwise given the changed and new situation.
