Oakland As (A) Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

This case describes a situation in which the general manager at the end of the 1980 baseball season. Star pitcher in his contract negotiations, claims that attendance was significantly higher in games in which he was the starting pitcher. Game-by-game data for the 1980 season home attendance and ten variables affecting the attendance given. The case is suitable for use at the end of the module to regress. It can be used to (1) review the t-test for difference in means and include the difference in the regression with a dummy variable, (2) illustrate the importance of model building frame, even when used to assess patterns of others, (3) illustrate the use of dummy variables and (4) indicate the difference between conventional and ultimate conclusion. Additive, QA-0313, contains the results of several analyzes of regression in 1980 house-attendance data and can be used with the case in order to facilitate the analysis of the situation.
