Managing a Public Image: Sophie Chen Case Solution
Despite being an MBA student at Harvard, Sophie Chen, who was Asian American, faced a lot of issues such as she was once not allowed to mentor a junior person efficiently because she disapproved of the way her Asian-American mentee.
Due to such circumstances, she wanted to stay away from the stereotype, and stated that there was little she could do to help her mentee. By the end of her story, Chen questions whether she could have been a more efficient mentor. She reflects on her picture issues, questioning whether they have sabotaged her ability to exercise leadership effectively.
