ITT Automotive: Global Manufacturing Strategy–1994 Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

ITT Automotive is in the process of developing a new generation of anti-lock braking system (ABS), designated MK-20. The case focuses on the level of automation, which will be used in the production of this new system, and that all plants need to use the same process technology. Because of the increasing price pressure and the growing demand for cheaper ABS, team and senior management (based in Frankfurt, Germany) strongly support using a single, highly automated manufacturing processes in the plant is planned to produce four MK-20 (located in Germany , Belgium and the United States).
