GiveWell: Real Change For Your Dollar Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

In 2007 a group of eight friends planned to give. With all these charities out there, the friends wanted to know which ones were doing the most good. The group reasoned that valuable information to answer their questions was unavailable, after conducting an exhaustive investigation. Amassing the responses will be a considerable amount of work. Realizing that other person donors might like to have exactly the same information, the group created a nonprofit dedicated to sharing all its own advice and doing that work publically, GiveWell.

Cost effectiveness was proven by the organization planned to bring greater transparency and a focus on to the world of philanthropy. Elie Hassenfeld and Holden Karnofsky, two of the buddies, left purse GiveWell full time with their jobs. This case covers the history of GiveWell as well as the development of doctrine and its research methodology for identifying excellent charities.
