ExxonMobil and the ChadCameroon Pipeline Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

This case presents a dilemma multinational oil and gas company, ExxonMobil, as it factors in the ethical issues related to the environment and the cultural differences in deciding whether to begin construction of a gas pipeline in Chad and Cameroon, two of the poorest and most corrupt developing countries in West Africa . Many players in this project included the World Bank, which co-funded the project and put restrictions in place, which we hope will help prevent corruption in the government and in Chad and Cameroon, and many environmental and human rights groups, who warn of potential disaster. The case also includes environmental and social analysis of the areas that will be affected by the pipeline.
