Chevron is the second biggest oil producing company in United States. It has made several oil discoveries to date. It has around 60 to 70 thousand workers working for the company. It is a multinational company which maintains oil bases outside United States as well.

It also has operational Excellence management system. Through this program the business operations are conducted in a successful manner.

Chevron has partnered with SensorDynamics to establish a monitoring system for remote oil and gas wells. The partnership resulted in development of number of fiber-optic sensors. One other program manufactured was a coating technology that maintains balance cables and fiber-optics.

The partnership also resulted in intensive monitoring of oil and gas wells. It has also worked on other alternatives such as advanced sensors, replacement of sensors, and new sensor types as they become available. The partnership between Chevron and SensorDynamics makes advancement in Sensor development to improve reservoir monitoring. However several weaknesses have also been identified especially in high temperature and high pressure conditions.
