The Boeing Tanker Lease Deal (B) Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

In May 2003, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld approved an agreement to allow the Air Force to lease 100 converted Boeing 767 aircraft, aerial refueling tankers. Critics of the deal, the most important part of Senator John McCain's claim that no planes were not needed, that the lease was a veiled purchase is designed to bypass the budget process, and that the agreement was a government handout of Boeing.
