Global Carbon Emissions: An Interactive Illustration Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

This case exemplifies the tragedy of the commons via an interactive game to be played by students. With under a day countdown and no understanding among the regional blocs in sight, pupils use data in the case to counsel the countries in their own bloc concerning the collective degree of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions they need to adopt. Pupils must also recommend whether the suggestion should be signed onto by their bloc when a last minute carbon tax proposition circulates.

This case contains an Excel Spreadsheet that pupils may exploit to understand the effect on Net Domestic Product (NDP) of carbon emissions levels that are distinct. Because of the need the case can be also treated as lock opener.
