Utah Symphony and Utah Opera: Merger Proposal Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Anne Ewers, CEO of Utah Opera, awaiting the decision of the members of the Board of Utah Symphony and Utah Opera of Utah to merge the top two art organizations. If voting is the convergence, Ewers will be asked to take the helm of the newly created organization and is responsible for the integration of the two organizations. Problems students consider the benefits of mergers and develop an action plan for what Ewers to combine the two organizations, including how to design a new business, how to manage the various components - many of whom are frustrated ad - and how to create a new corporate culture.
