United Technologies Corporation: Supplier Development Initiative Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

In mid-2000, United Technologies Corporation (UTC) was two years in the integration of supplier development programs. The focus of this initiative was to strengthen relations with the "key" suppliers to make full use of the supply chain. Qualities to look for in a relationship included long-term commitment, confidential exchange of information, joint continuous improvement efforts and sharing the risks and benefits.
