Make no mistake, at the end of the oil on the horizon, and with it come serious consequences for businesses and opportunities for industrial upgrading. The coming end of petroleum oil will fundamentally change the course of events on the scale of the Internet, the credit crisis, and perhaps even climate change. Three sets of ideas explored here are important: to find substitutes oil; collaborative innovation among industries and sectors, as well as facing a fundamental socio-political implications of the transition from oil.
