Tattle Tale Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

TJ, a student at a business school, was upset to find the contribution of a group of his team mate in the project containing plagiarism and bad paraphrase content (and without citation to a source in some cases). T.J. and four others have been working with KC, a traveling member of the group into three projects, which together accounted for 30 percent of the final grade for the course. In particular, T.J. was frustrated by shoddy adjustments provided KC, when his error was selected. T.J. was also shocked KC blithe attitude toward plagiarism and group projects, especially after he discovered that KC did the same on their first project team. T.J. firmly believes that the matter should be brought to the course professor, but two of his fellow group agreed, fearing that would adversely affect the harmony group, thus compromising their latest project group, which is significantly more weight by 20 percent. The remaining two groups of friends, did not seem to consider the serious question. T.J. I wonder what it would be correct to do. This case was written for use in the introductory class, a course of conduct. However, it has potential for use in the classroom negotiating, conflict resolution and team dynamics. The case is based on a true story, but the names have been changed to ensure anonymity. The subject of plagiarism and weak members of the group contribute to the group of tasks is one that resonates deeply with students enrolled in any course that emphasizes teamwork as an essential component of the evaluation. The housing has a practical value for the working world, as the incident may occur in this context. In addition to being useful knife to any course on ethics, it also serves as a reminder to students about plagiarism.
