Patent Pratt Cook joins Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) as the chief of the Human Resources Manager after Dr. Bill Green convinces her that HR will take on a more strategic role in the district. Pratt Cook arrived to find the personnel department dramatically affected by recent budget cuts and limited bureaucratic culture focused on the basic operations of employment. In addition, MPS is in the middle of negotiations controversial teachers contract and Pratt Cook is expected to take a leading role.
