PacifiCares African American Health Solutions (AAHS) Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

PacifiCare in the African American Health Solutions (ahs) is aimed at improving the health of African-Americans by providing culturally appropriate health education, improvement opportunities, and access to high-quality health care. By early 2006, about two years after the start of the program, the initiatives have made significant progress in its two major markets of Dallas and Los Angeles. In the new year, however, ahs face new challenges. Limited information has been captured and monitored for the possible impact of the program on the level of risk in a portfolio company, and little was known about the profitability of the target community. In addition, it ahs made a positive contribution to the company? Finally, the competition for African-Americans to "increase business among suppliers of health insurance. Aahs in 2006 were to define its purpose more clearly in the face of increasing competition. This initiative is also necessary to define the approach new customers.
