Organizational Transformation at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

The Restructuring Committee at the Ontario Health Services decided to restructure the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health by merging four departments that specialized in treating the patients suffering from mental health and addiction issues in 1997 at Toronto. The basic motive to start this center was to provide the treatment to patients with mood disorders, anxiety, and schizophrenia, and substance addictions. In 1999, the board of trustees wanted some solid justification for this complex merger by the recently appointed CEO and his team. This initiative would require a plan that can tackle the various issues, including infrastructure, stakeholders, strategic, and organizational. This plan would have significant impact on the staff of all of the four facilities, on the affiliated neighborhoods, on the vulnerable patients and their families as well.
