Ontario Science Centre: Agents of Change and Beyond Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

In June 2005, the Ontario Science Centre (OSC) was in the midst of change agents Upgrade Plan - $ 45 million, five-year project aimed at refreshing the third exhibition of the center of the hall. With more than 600 exhibits in the 11,000 square meters of exhibition space, OSC had a relationship of science and technological ideas in an interactive way since it opened in 1969. Throughout its history, OSC has conceived, designed and built their exhibits. In the mid-1980s, this led to consulting, sales and rental of its design and construction exhibitions in other research centers around the world. 50% funded by the Government of Ontario, OSC faced with the problem of attracting private capital and income earned enough to cover their operating costs and continue to innovate and upgrade its facilities. To avoid getting stuck in the status quo once Agents of Change Plan update was completed, the Executive Director of the officer and the management team set a high goal: to double the number of visitors and generate $ 10 million in operating profit in 2010.
