Michael Ovitz and The Walt Disney Co. (A) Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Faced with the need to hire a new president of Walt Disney Co chased Michael Ovitz, founder of the creative agency of the artist. Although initially disinterested, Ovitz talks with Michael Eisner, CEO of Walt Disney Co, the summer of 1995, before making an offer. Ovitz was officially launched for president on October 1 this year. While hiring Ovitz was first announced as a coup for Disney, Eisner and executives began to question Ovitz fit with the company culture. By the summer of 1996 Eisner decided Ovitz should have been fired. He began to talk to the board members, who agreed to a contract should be terminated Ovitz.
