Matrixed Approach to Designing IT Governance Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Uses two different studies - a survey of IT executives at 256 companies in North and South America, Europe and Asia / Pacific, and a set of 40 interview-based case studies of large companies, such as Johnson & Johnson, Carlson Companies, UPS, Delta Air Lines and ING DIRECT - to the conclusion that, when top managers to take time to develop, implement and communicate the IT management processes, companies get more value from IT. To this end, they offer a one-page basis for the development of effective IT: matrix, which combines solutions in five areas (principles, architecture, infrastructure, business needs, and to identify priorities and investment decisions) in the six archetypal approaches (business monarchy , IT monarchy, federal, duopoly, feudal, and anarchy). Shows how successful companies use different approaches for different solutions to ensure maximum effectiveness and value for IT professionals and the general enterprise. Offer recommendations to guide the design of effective IT governance. "Hide
