Eliza Herman is vice president of human resources strategy in BP PLC, based in London, England. Her career in the energy business began in 1986 when she joined Amoco Corp, where she received a number of promotions in the international oil business, experienced it on the market, ranging from Argentina to Azerbaijan. She was a member of the team involved in the successful integration of Amoco, when BP acquired the company in 1998. Over the past few years at BP, she worked as a manager for strategy and business transformation-Global aromatics, leading the team responsible for strategic planning and business development in the petrochemical segment, the company and, most recently, as vice president of human resources for BP, the global gas, energy, renewable energy and segment. Throughout his career, Herman has traveled, with a focus on Asia, Western Europe, North America, South America, Russia and the former Soviet Union. Herman received a Master of Business Administration from the School of Business Kelley, Indiana University, and a BA degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences at Johns Hopkins University. She serves on the board of directors of Brightpoint, Inc, where she chairs the Compensation and Human Rights Committee of resources, and a member of the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee.
