It comes to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability in a particular installation medium enterprises (Host Europe) in the IT industry. Host Europe is the third largest web hosting companies in German-speaking Europe. In recent years, the company has put considerable effort in living up to its corporate social responsibility and sustainability. The case is the IT sector in Europe and in Germany, and identifies several technological questions such as "green IT" (particularly in terms of greenhouse gas emissions and electronic waste), and the digital divide. Students learn about the various sustainability and CSR issues and measures in the specific context of medium-sized enterprises. How advanced case of CSR and sustainable development, it can be used to create based on existing knowledge of the students and ask them to come up with other ideas and complex strategies to pursue further CSR and sustainable development. example, Host Europe is not certified in accordance with environmental and social standards, however, the students could come up with a detailed and individualized plan of how to implement a system of management of the company.
