Sasken, communications software company, based in India, provides research and development support of the leading manufacturers of wireless devices from its offshore centers in India in intellectual property-oriented products and services space. Sasken has faced a number of challenges in the creation of advanced multimedia player for high-end mobile phone for the Japanese market. The Japanese market is one of the most advanced mobile services that it offers, and is far ahead of the rest of the world in terms of phone features and capabilities. Located in the offshore center far away from the target market, in a country where the mobile industry is still developing, the team Sasken project faced a number of challenges in the creation of high-tech products in accordance with the requirements of its customers. With high customer expectations and standards for the quality, completeness and timeliness of product delivery manager Sasken project was successfully developed to manage the technical requirements for products from offshore center of the company in Bangalore. Sasken project team also had to deal with the lack of tools and platforms, communication and coordination problems and cultural differences that characterized the offshore product development.
