Carrefour China Building a Greener Store Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Carrefour, the second largest retailer in the world, has just announced that it will open its first 'Green Store "in Beijing before the 2008 Olympic Games. David Monaco, asset and construction director of Carrefour China, had little experience with green building, and was struggling with how to translate the ad specifications for store design and operations. Monaco, to assess the situation carefully, and from an environmental and economic point of view. In addition, he must take the regulatory infrastructure situation in China into account, where no official green building standard exists and only few suppliers of power equipment, saving work.
