Are Iranian Consumers Poised to Buy American in a Hostile Bilateral Environment Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Currently, the bilateral relations between the U.S. and Iran is fraught with intense political and military tension revolves around the Iranian nuclear issue. Open hostility between the two countries in recent years has resulted in national, regional and global forums. Despite these shocks, the Iranian consumer is active in the global market, buying goods from all over the world. Our study highlights the attitude of Iranian consumers to import and purchase of foreign production, with a focus on American-made products. Our 2006 study of 902 Iranian consumers that the Iranians are very open, but not exclusively so, to purchase foreign-made and American-made products. We also found that the military-political tensions bilateral or enmity between the Iranian and U.S. governments are not the Iranian consumer.
